Martindale Cleaning's "Green" Helpful Hints
1)
Hydrogen Peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is more gentle than chlorine bleach and can be used
for sterilizing and disinfecting in your home.
2)
Olive Oil
Olive oil is great for moisturizing and conditioning leather furniture
and as a furniture polish.
3)
Orange Oil
Orange oil is an effective cleaning agent which is less toxic than petroleum
distillates and also smells great!
4)
White Vinegar
White vinegar
is a great disinfecting tool. It can also be used for deodorizing, cutting
grease and wax build-up, removing mildew and removing stains on carpets,
countertops, pots, pans and coffee carafes.
5)
Salt
When you don't
have time to wash dishes right away, sprinkle on some salt. This keeps
the food from sticking and makes them easier to wash later.

Hi, My name is Dorothy. I am the owner/operator of Martindale Cleaning. I have been in the Bloomington area for most of my life. I started this business in 1999. Prior to that, I spent 17 years in the insurance industry. During that time I was able to obtain my FLMI, and Series 6 NASD Licenses. I served as a Board Member for the Friends of Bloomington Public Library as Treasurer for 15 years, and currently am a board member for CISAR (Central Illinois Small Animal Rescue). I love animals! I have four dogs, and take care of three feral cats, who have taken over my garage. I like to volunteer to help other organizations and enjoy traveling. |
Hi, my name is Zip. I have been married for longer than I can remember. I work in the office at Martindale Cleaning. I retired 14 years ago, after 36 years of service with Country Insurance. I graduated college from Raughans Business College. I have one daughter who lives in Kentucky. I farm in the Southern area of Illinois as well. |
Hi! My name is Sarah, and I have lived in Bloomington my entire life. I am attending ISU and working on my Bachelors in education. I love reading, cooking, and playing video games in my spare time. I have two cats. I assist in the office of Martindale Cleaning on a part-time basis. |
Hi! My name is Joyce, and I have been helping to run Martindale Cleaning since it was founded in 1999. I have lived in the area long enough to see my children and grandchildren grow up here. I have two daughters, a granddaughter, and a grandson who all also live in the area, as well as a golden retriever named Riley. I also volunteer for the Bloomington Public Library to help with their book sales. |
